Winter 2014 has been slow to arrive in North Idaho, but snow is slowly falling in the mountains and I have made a couple of trips to British Columbia to get my powder fix.... A few days ago I sat on a beautiful ridge in the warm sunshine and made some fantastic turns in soft powder snow! Winter is here and it's going to be a good one!!
Spring in North Idaho is a really dynamic time of year and you really need to flow with the changes... One day it's dumping snow and there is powder skiing at the high elevations and the next day (or hour) the high mountains are getting rain and the rivers are rising. The days are getting longer which means more time to play... bigger mountain objectives, and for me, more electricity from the sun. It's also a time of year when you walk a trail one day and see a few hints of new foliage and the next day there's an explosion of fresh green colors! I just put out Season 1 Episode 2 of Gem Vision TV... It was shot on April 1st and I thought that I may be hanging up the skis for the season after that day.... but a storm is upon us and the temperatures are dropping, so maybe I will be bouncing through some fresh powder snow this weekend... Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter... Life is good in North Idaho!!
